Delivery Channels
In Module 2, we asked you to consider what might be the best way to tailor Vroom Content for a specific communication method used by your parents and caregivers.
Reaching these parents requires a “delivery channel.”
What is a delivery channel?
A delivery channel is a tool for sharing Vroom Content. These are the various ways you can reach parents and caregivers. Remember when we talked about trusted messengers? A delivery channel is the method of communication used by a trusted messenger. The delivery channel you use will depend on the resources you have and the needs of your community.
Delivery Channels May Vary
While all Vroom Content uses a common approach, there are different ways of getting that content to parents and caregivers. Potentially useful delivery channels could include physical materials shared during in-person interactions, videos, emails, SMS messages, social media, signage, or even verbal communication! We’ve even seen one partner, the NSPCC, utilize Vroom Content in a chatbot they host on their website!
Selecting Delivery Channels
You will want to choose your delivery channels based on the types of relationships trusted messengers have with parents and caregivers, and the types of communication and messaging that your community responds to best.
- In-person interactions like meetings, classes, trainings, or service delivery might make sense where trusted messengers already meet with parents and caregivers in person.
- Digital messaging works well when trusted messengers already use digital communication with parents and caregivers. Channels may include video hosting sites, WhatsApp, SMS, e-mail, or other digital messaging. (When considering digital communications, we have some special rules around Vroom in apps. If you think this is a direction you will want to go, make sure to let us know in your application.)
- Media can be a valuable way of reaching parents at scale. This might include social media channels that parents and caregivers follow or use regularly, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or other platforms. It can also include television, radio, or other more traditional media platforms.

- Spaces and signage can be a strong delivery channel for printed and written materials when posted in places that parents and caregivers typically visit. In this case, the space might even be considered a trusted messenger.
When you apply for a Vroom Content License, we will ask you to identify the delivery channels you plan to use. You might start by thinking about the delivery channels your organization already uses.
