Training: Adapting Vroom Content

Module 2: Key Stakeholders and Audience: The WHO

Key Stakeholders and Audience: The WHO

You will want to be clear about the key players in your plan. The key players are: the Licensee, Trusted Messengers, and Parents & Caregivers.

Licensee

This is your organization, which holds the Vroom Content License. Vroom Content isn’t sublicensable. This means that while you are free to share Vroom Content in the context of the materials you create and within your community, other organizations will need to work directly with Vroom if they wish to adapt or embed Vroom Content as well. Remember, you must complete this Toolkit before you apply for a Content License.

Trusted Messengers

These are the organizations and individuals who have relationships with parents and caregivers. They are in the best position to meet parents where they are. Your organization may be a Trusted Messenger. This is where co-branding becomes important! Vroom may be unknown in your community, but sharing Vroom Content from your organization can help build trust and acceptance. Individuals like teachers, doctors, relatives, and even those in our social networks can be trusted messengers as well. Leveraging the trust that caregivers have in organizations and individuals differentiates Vroom from other campaigns—and is more likely to inspire long-term behavior change.

Parents & Caregivers

These are the folks who will use Vroom Content with babies and children. We sometimes refer to them as “parents” for short, but we always mean the adults who care for children, whether at home or in group settings, one-on-one or as part of a community. These individuals are your audience, but it is really important to define early and specifically whom you are trying to reach with your adapted Vroom Content.

When you apply for a license, we will expect your organization to be able to answer this question:

Which parents and caregivers specifically within our community will we target with Vroom Content? (Consider contexts like demographics, geographies, socio-economic factors, etc.)

Keep in Mind

Remember, you don’t need to have these answers right now to move on, but you will need them for your application, so you’ll probably want to start thinking about them now. That’s what this Toolkit is for! Your answers below will be saved on this page for you to easily come back and reference while completing your application.

Here are some additional questions that may help you define this audience.

1. Which of our programs currently has a direct impact on young children and their families, especially the caregivers?
