Training: Adapting Vroom Content

Module 1: More About Vroom Tips

More About Vroom Tips

At Vroom we have a huge database of Vroom Tips, which we are constantly refining and adding to.

Before starting this Licensing Toolkit, we covered the different types of Vroom Content Licenses. (For a refresher, visit our Adapting Vroom Content page). As you now know, to access the full database of content or to adapt or translate Vroom Content, a Content License is required. This Toolkit will help prepare you to apply for an A.L.T. License. If you don’t need to adapt Vroom Content and only want to access the full database of Vroom Tips to develop your own materials or to co-brand Vroom Materials, visit our For Professionals page.

Let's look more deeply at an example of a Vroom Tip.

What do you notice about it? It’s short: short enough for a caregiver to read and implement quickly. It’s pretty easy and doesn’t require any uncommon materials. It’s clear and accessible. It doesn’t use jargon or fancy vocabulary. In fact, all of our Tips–and all of our materials!–embody our Four Foundational Values:

Vroom Values

  1. Be Positive and Empowering

The core message of Vroom is non-judgmental. We remind parents and caregivers that they already have everything they need to be great-brain builders. By showing them the benefits of what they are already doing well, we hope to spark more moments that boost brain development.

  1. Lead with Science

Vroom is grounded in research that is presented in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. It doesn’t just share what a parent or caregiver can do, it shares why it helps. The why matters! Vroom stays up to date on the latest science, so parents can trust our materials (and so can you).

The Big Idea

To develop Vroom, we worked with leaders in neuroscience, psychology, behavioral economics, parenting and early childhood development. Their work informs everything we do.

  1. Be Attainable and Accessible

Vroom is free to parents and communities. Our parent-facing material is written at or below a 5th-grade reading level. We avoid technical jargon. We explain complex concepts in easy-to-understand language that is accessible and inclusive. Our materials are adaptable and flexible enough to meet the unique needs of families, organizations and communities.

  1. Meet Parents Where They Are

Vroom is a tool that doesn’t require parents or caregivers to buy special toys, or invest more time or money. Wherever they are, Vroom can add to those moments they are already spending with their child. We also meet communities and organizations where they are. Organizations that want to use Vroom Content come in all shapes and sizes. Vroom has a simple system that empowers organizations to use Vroom resources in ways that resonate in their communities and still maintain the core of Vroom Content.
